Failing to retrieve a source is not evidence that no relevant source exists. We do not conclude “no evidence” while specialist indexes or historical editions remain unchecked.

A 2024 Lancet source identified across four bibliographic providers and linked to a White Rose repository PDF with validated signature and fixed hash.
A HanScope section round-tripped to exact bytes in a normalized artifact. It is a public-web transcription, not a facsimile witness, so witness verification remains withheld.
PubMed, Europe PMC, and Crossref independently flag the same DOI as retracted. Crossref corrections/retraction and the Europe PMC expression-of-concern relation remain separate alerts.
A normalized transcription candidate is fixed to pages 17–18 of a public-domain facsimile, with an internal collation workbench for 11 lines and two visual hints. File identity and candidate location are verified, but it is not citation evidence before expert character-by-character adjudication.
Two versions of one preprint were merged across the bioRxiv/medRxiv API, Crossref, and Europe PMC, then each JATS XML signature and hash was validated. A preprint is not peer-reviewed, and a public file does not establish redistribution permission or passage-level evidence.
A topical medRxiv source was fixed to exact XML byte locators across 26 sections and 51 paragraphs, with six review questions covering diagnostic boundaries, construct definition, causal overreach, and limitations. Every item remains pending human adjudication and has not been promoted to evidence or a treatment hypothesis.
Current retrieval coverage
50/50 modern-literature benchmark searches are complete, and preprint discovery identified 286 source families. Publicly acquired files are structure- and hash-checked so later reviews refer to the same artifact.
0 candidates currently have completed researcher relevance review. Automatically matched titles, DOIs, and similar phrases help prioritise review but do not replace citation judgment.
